acrylic on cardboard boxes (12x12x16″ each), 2012

This piece was created for a class assignment where we had to create 40 paintings. I panicked, but in that panic I was creative. I like affordable, accessible art. I also like affordable supplies (and I was a college student at the time, so…). I bought cardboard boxes from Home Depot, primed, and painted them. I had a fun time stacking them, turning them, throwing them around. It was a fun way to interact with artwork.

Most of them have now been destroyed because I moved and used a bunch of them as moving boxes lol Functional, ephemeral
